Description of work
This role supports the daily operations of the District Office by assisting callers, visitors, and staff. Your work helps create a dependable and efficient environment for transportation activities.
Responsibilities
- Telephone Support: Provide clear and polite responses to callers and direct them to the correct staff
- Visitor Guidance: Assist visitors by directing them to proper areas in the building
- Office Assistance: Complete typing, word processing, and copying tasks as needed
- Mail Handling: Sort and distribute incoming mail and prepare outgoing mail
- Switchboard Coverage: Manage calls from several lines, greet visitors, and schedule conference rooms
Schedule
Full-time employment, 37.5 hours per week. Work hours are 8:00am to 4:30pm, Monday-Friday, with a 1-hour lunch. Telework: You will not have the option to telework in this position.
Pay
Selected candidates who are new to employment within the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania will begin employment at the starting annual salary of $36,831 (before taxes).
Qualifications
Minimum Experience and Training Requirements: Six months as a Clerical Assistant 1 (Commonwealth job title or equivalent Federal Government job title, as determined by the Office of Administration); or Graduation from high school; or an equivalent combination of experience and training.
Special Requirements: This position requires keyboarding skills to meet standards for speed and accuracy.
