About the role
Chef/Director needed for School food service program in the Morris County, NJ area. Monday through Friday, full-time day shift, 7 to 8 hours daily.
Responsibilities
- Prepare all catering events for school
- Oversee staffing needs
- Report to Area Supervisor on a daily basis
- Ensure that all safety and food handling procedures are being followed
- Use of personal protection equipment (PPE) at all times
- Willing to work an occasional catering on a weeknight and weekend
- Some travel may be involved
Requirements
- Must obtain proper documentation to work in schools
- Able to lift 50lbs
- Proficient in using various forms of technology, namely Google and Microsoft products and point of sale systems
- ServSafe® Manager Certificate
Qualifications
- Strong culinary experience is required
- Prior food service management experience is ideal
- Excellent time and people management skills needed
- Able to thrive in a fast-paced environment
- Strong attention to detail and creativity with both presentation and new menu ideas within the guidelines of the NSLP
- This is a client facing role so candidate should be personable and comfortable with regular client interactions
