Chef/ Director needed for School Food Service

Job Summary

The Chef/Director position is available for a school food service program in the Fort Lauderdale/Davie, FL area. The role is part-time, Monday through Friday, from 6:00 AM to 6:50 PM.

Responsibilities

• Create and implement new menu ideas while adhering to NSLP guidelines.
• Manage a fast-paced kitchen environment.
• Obtain necessary documentation to work in schools.
• Occasionally cater school events and handle some travel.
• Manage staff schedules and report to the Area Supervisor daily.
• Utilize technology such as Google, Microsoft products, and point of sale systems.
• Ensure compliance with safety and food handling procedures.
• Able to lift up to 50 lbs.
• Client-facing role requiring personable and comfortable interaction with clients.

Requirements

• Strong culinary experience.
• Prior food service management experience preferred.
• Proficiency in using Google, Microsoft products, and point-of-sale systems.
• ServSafe® Manager Certificate.
