Role Overview
The ICU Charge Nurse (RN) provides leadership, supervision, and direct clinical care within the Intensive Care Unit.
Responsibilities
- Guide and support nursing staff to ensure high-quality, safe patient care.
- Maintain a safe environment and facilitate smooth patient throughput.
- Delegate assignments based on staff training and patient acuity.
- Collaborate with medical providers to uphold care standards.
- Assess, plan, and implement direct clinical care for assigned patients on a shift basis.
- Supervise support staff and ensure appropriate resource management.
- Support the Chief Nursing Officer in maintaining staff competency and care quality.
Qualifications & Skills
- Graduate of an accredited nursing program; bachelor's or master's degree preferred.
- At least 1 year of RN experience.
- Current licensure, certification, or registration as required by law.
- Certifications such as AHA BLS, ACLS, PALS, or NRP as applicable.
