Position Overview: The ICU - Intensive Care Unit Charge Nurse (RN) is responsible for coordinating unit activities, managing staffing, and ensuring quality patient care. Key Responsibilities: Provide patient care according to standards, supervise and delegate tasks to RNs, LPNs, and CNAs, and monitor care effectiveness. Act as liaison to internal and external stakeholders, develop compliance plans, and mentor staff. Staff Management: Handle daily staffing decisions, support orientation and ongoing training, and ensure competency completion. Schedule unit activities and oversee staff performance and customer service. Skills & Qualifications: Effective communication, decision-making in high-stress situations, change management, and budget oversight. Education & Experience: Nursing degree from an accredited school, two years of clinical nursing experience, and relevant certifications such as CPR, ACLS, and specialty-specific credentials (e.g., NRP, Wound Care). Preferred Qualifications: BSN degree, management experience, and additional certifications in specialty areas. This role involves leading clinical operations, ensuring regulatory compliance, staff development, and maintaining high standards of patient care within the ICU setting.
