Charge Nurse - MedSurg, Orthopedics, Nights

Role: Coordinates and delivers quality nursing care across the patient lifecycle, managing clinical duties and operational issues during shifts. Acts as a resource and communicates effectively with staff and leadership regarding patient care, departmental concerns, and staff needs. Responsibilities: Provides direct patient care as needed, oversees care coordination, and ensures safety and quality standards. Supports staff guidance, promotes health and safety practices, and evaluates care outcomes to improve practice. Qualifications: Requires a graduate from an accredited nursing school; bachelor’s degree preferred. Must have at least 1 year of hospital nursing experience; 2+ years preferred. Valid RN licensure, BCLS, ACLS, PALS, Chemotherapy/Biotherapy, and NRP certifications are mandatory. Additional specialty certifications may be required based on unit, such as PEARS, TNCC, ENPC, and fetal monitoring. Skills: Strong clinical knowledge, effective communication, leadership ability, and commitment to evidence-based practice. Must be adaptable to various specialties including emergency, critical care, pediatrics, surgical, and women’s services, with ongoing certification requirements.
