Charge Capture Specialist

Responsibilities

• Analyzes and audits charge tickets to identify missed charges and/or inaccuracies before entering charges into the system
• Ensures charge entry, routinely works charge review work queues and performs charge reconciliation
• Communicates effectively with physicians about identified issues in order to resolve them
• Maintains knowledge of current coding and medical billing processes, as well as relevant industry regulations
• Participates in and assists with audits to capture last charges and determine the accuracy of billing as necessary
• Performs manual charge entry by gathering demographic, insurance, and healthcare encounter information from a variety of sources in order to accurately bill medical claims
• Sets up and maintains charge entry and charge review work queues
• Verifies charges on accounts as needed and provides detailed and accurate comments for future reference
• Responds to inquiries from various internal departments and external clients in a timely and accurate professional manner

Requirements

• H.S. Diploma/GED
• 2 years of experience in medical billing or charge entry or other revenue cycle functions preferred

Pay

The salary range for this position is $40,000 - $60,000 per year.

Schedule

This is a hybrid position that requires one day on site and four days remote/work from home.
