Job Summary
CoxHealth South is seeking a Chaplain Resident to provide pastoral and spiritual care ministry to patients, families, and staff. This position reports to the CPE Program Supervisor and Director of Chaplaincy.
About the Role
The Chaplain Resident will visit patients, families, and staff to offer pastoral and spiritual care, document interventions in medical records, and participate in departmental duties.
Responsibilities
- Visit patients, families, and staff for pastoral and spiritual care
- Document interventions in medical records according to department procedure
- Participate in Chaplaincy Department duties and procedures
- Report to CPE Program Supervisor and Director of Chaplaincy
Requirements
- Required: Bachelor's Degree
- Preferred: Master's level theological degree or equivalent
- Required: 1 year of comparable volunteer experience
- Preferred: 1 year of comparable staff experience

- Able to connect all aspects of service to the CoxHealth Mission and Values
- Serving patient, families and staff regardless of faith affiliation as well as those holding to no faith at all
- Effectively function for indeterminate periods in a high stress environment while remaining calm in the midst of crisis
- Has a high propensity of change
- Strong computer skills and willingness to learn new programs
- Highly skilled in grief process, trauma services, palliative care, ethics, and multiculturalism among other fields
