Chaplain Resident
About the role
The Chaplain Resident is the member of the team who is responsible for the spiritual component of the pastoral services for the hospital. This position functions as a competent pastoral care provider with the ability to relate cooperatively with patients, family members, peers and other hospital personnel while a participant in the clinical education program of Baptist Health Care.
Responsibilities
- Incorporates a commitment to quality, which focuses on the needs of clients and families.
- Oversees the design and implementation of all materials and assessment forms either distributed to families or used in assessment.
- Develops education programs and memorial services/rituals for staff/families on the spiritual components of loss/ethics as requested by the director.
- Participates in community and volunteer education programs.
- Develops, co-facilitates, and supervises bereavement groups for families and community clients as appropriate.
- Aid in other duties as assigned to support the operational needs of the department and organization.
- May be required to remain on campus immediately before, during, and after severe weather and/or disasters.
Requirements

Qualifications
Applicants must have a Master's degree in Pastoral Care and Counseling or a related field, and a minimum of one year of pastoral care experience. Certification in Pastoral Care and Counseling is preferred.
Skills
Strong interpersonal skills, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work collaboratively are essential. Proficiency in Microsoft Office and familiarity with hospital systems are beneficial.

Pay
The salary range for this position is $50,000 - $60,000 annually.
Schedule
The schedule for this position is typically Monday through Friday, with some evening and weekend availability as needed.
