About the role
This position is responsible for setting up rigging for construction projects and/or manufacturing plants. Key responsibilities include communicating with equipment operators, reading and interpreting project plans, inspecting rigging equipment, attaching and moving materials, guiding loads, and performing daily safety checks.
Responsibilities
- Maintain proper hand signals for communication with equipment operators.
- Read and interpret project plans, blueprints, and other written instructions.
- Inspect rigging equipment for wear, damage, or deterioration before use.
- Attach slings, chokers, spreader bars, etc., to materials to be moved.
- Move materials, equipment, parts, or assemblies into position using hoists, chain falls, snatch blocks, or come alongs.
- Guide loads during lifts and position them according to instructions.
- Detach loads and remove rigging equipment after completing tasks.
- Complete necessary documentation and reporting as required.
- Work under production schedule pressure and attain set standards of accuracy.
- Communicate with Foreman regarding any problems arising, materials required, or hazards noted.
- Perform other tasks as directed by supervision.
Qualifications
- 4+ years related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- High School diploma or GED Certification (preferred).
- Applicable Rigger training and certificate from NCCER, NCCCO, or from approved 3rd party certification body.
- Knowledge of MIC Health and Safety programs and project specific regulations.
- Ability to read, write, and speak English fluently.
- Physical demands include working up to a 12-hour shift, lifting up to 50 pounds, and maintaining physical strength and stamina.
- Must be able to work at heights and adhere to safety and fall-protection requirements.
- Knowledge of equipment safety, maintenance, and storage.
- Ability to work with limited supervision and coordinate the use of eyes, hands, and feet.

Pay
$36.00 / hour, commensurate with experience.
Schedule
This position is a Full-Time position scheduled to work typically 50 hours per week. Schedule is subject to projects requirements.
Travel
Travel required up to 90%.
