Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist (CRNA), Panorama City (Full Time)

About the Role

Under the medical supervision of an Anesthesiologist, administers general and regional anesthesia for all types of surgical, obstetrical, and other procedures requiring anesthesia services to patients of various age groups—neonatal, pediatric, adolescent, adult, and geriatric—in accordance with hospital and departmental standards of care. Responsibilities include airway management, maintenance of fluid balance, homeostasis, monitoring, response to emergencies related to airway management and cardiopulmonary resuscitation, and management of patients on ventilators.

Responsibilities

• Upholds Kaiser Permanente’s Policies and Procedures, Principles of Responsibilities, and applicable state, federal, and local laws.
• Complies with organizational rules, policies, and procedures (e.g., TJC, Title 22, Regional, and Department requirements).
• Evaluates patients pre-operatively by interviewing and examining the patient, reviewing charts for relevant information, and collaborating with the anesthesiologist to select an appropriate anesthetic.
• Demonstrates understanding of the cognitive, physical, emotional, and chronological maturation process in delivering services to patients of all age groups.
• Evaluates patient response to pre-medication and communicates special concerns to the surgeon and anesthesiologist.
• Checks anesthesia equipment daily and between cases to ensure safe operating conditions.
• Prepares drugs for administration and administers anesthesia in accordance with delineated clinical privileges.
• Monitors patients intraoperatively, evaluates operative and post-operative conditions, and takes necessary actions to maintain stability.
• Evaluates patients postoperatively (within 24 hours).
• Precepts student nurse anesthetists.
• Maintains accurate accounting of controlled substances in accordance with departmental guidelines.
• Maintains equipment and supplies as outlined in department policies and procedures.
• Establishes and maintains courteous and cooperative relations with patients, staff, and other personnel.
• May perform other duties within the scope of licensure/certification as required.

Requirements

• Graduate of an educational program in Nurse Anesthesia accredited by the Council on Accreditation of Nurse Anesthesia Educational Programs and Schools.
• Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist (California) license.
• Registered Nurse License (California).
• Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• National Provider Identifier (NPI).
• Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist National Certification.
• Experience in anesthesia for major procedures involving extensive monitoring and fluid, blood, and electrolyte replacement for patients of various age groups.
• Demonstrated technical, clinical, and professional skills within the scope of practice defined by the State of California Department of Consumer Affairs.
• Proficiency in charting, documentation, knowledge of equipment and supplies, productivity, communication, and staff development.

Schedule

• Full-time (40 hours per week).
• Variable shift: Sun, Mon, Tue, Wed, Thu, Fri, Sat.
• Working hours: 07:00 AM – 06:59 AM.
• Requires travel to Santa Clarita MOB Outpatient Surgery site (10% of the time).
• Onsite role at Panorama City Medical Center.

Pay

Pay range: $123.43 - $134.86 per hour ($128,402 - $140,251 per year). Actual base pay determined at offer will be based on labor market data, internal alignment, and a candidate's years of relevant work experience, education, certifications, skills, and geographic location.
