About the Role
This position involves providing comprehensive anesthesia care, including pre-anesthetic assessment, administration of anesthetic agents, and management during induction, maintenance, and emergence. The role supports vital functions peri-operatively, monitors patient responses, and responds to emergencies.
Responsibilities
- Conducts patient evaluations, obtains health history, and secures informed consent.
- Administers and adjusts anesthetic agents, manages airway devices, and performs invasive procedures like intubation and line placements.
- Monitors patient vital signs, manages fluid and electrolyte balance, and responds to abnormal findings.
- Evaluates patient recovery from anesthesia, institutes supportive treatments, and documents care.
- Performs emergency procedures, including CPR, and ensures equipment safety and sterilization.
- Provides consultation on respiratory and ventilatory care, and performs procedures outside the operating room as needed.
Requirements
- Graduate of an accredited nursing and nurse anesthesia program.
- Licensed as an Advanced Practice Registered Nurse and Registered Nurse in Hawaii.
- Certified Nurse Anesthetist with national certification.
- Current ACLS and BLS certification.
- Strong patient assessment, communication, and technical skills.
Qualifications
Experience in acute care anesthesia is preferred.
