About the role
Provides anesthesia services under medical supervision for diverse patient populations, including neonatal to geriatric, ensuring safety and adherence to standards.
Responsibilities
- Evaluates patients pre-operatively and collaborates with anesthesiologists to select appropriate anesthesia.
- Administers general and regional anesthesia, monitors intraoperative patient status, and manages emergencies like airway issues and CPR.
- Prepares and checks anesthesia equipment and drugs, maintains accurate controlled substance records, and ensures equipment safety.
- Evaluates postoperative patient conditions and responds accordingly, including within 24 hours post-surgery.
- Mentors student nurse anesthetists and maintains professional relations with staff, patients, and the public.
- Adheres to organizational policies, laws, and standards such as TJC and Title 22.
Qualifications & Skills
- Graduate of an accredited Nurse Anesthesia program.
- Licensed Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist and registered nurse in the state.
- Certifications in BLS, ACLS, and national nurse anesthesia certification.
- Experience with extensive monitoring, fluid management, and procedures involving various age groups.
- Strong technical, clinical, documentation, communication, and team skills.
