Role Overview

Provides anesthesia services under medical supervision for diverse surgical, obstetrical, and procedural cases across all age groups, including neonatal to geriatric patients. Responsibilities include airway management, fluid and homeostasis maintenance, monitoring, emergency response, and ventilator management.

Key Responsibilities

  • Evaluate patients pre-operatively and review relevant medical information.
  • Collaborate with anesthesiologists to select appropriate anesthesia plans.
  • Monitor patients intraoperatively, respond to emergencies, and evaluate post-operative conditions.
  • Prepare and administer anesthesia, ensuring equipment safety and managing medications.
  • Maintain accurate controlled substance records and ensure equipment readiness.
  • Supervise student nurse anesthetists and foster professional relationships with staff and patients.
  • Perform duties within the scope of licensure, adhering to policies and legal standards.

Qualifications & Skills

  • Graduate of an accredited Nurse Anesthesia program.
  • Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist (California), with RN licensure, ACLS, BLS, and national certification.
  • Experience with extensive monitoring and procedures for patients of all ages.
  • Strong clinical, technical, documentation, communication, and staff development skills.

Additional & Preferred Skills

  • Experience with major procedures involving blood, fluid, and electrolyte management.
  • Ability to demonstrate professional maturity and knowledge of equipment and supplies.
