About the role
Provides anesthesia services under medical supervision, administering general and regional anesthesia for diverse surgical and obstetrical procedures across all age groups, including neonatal to geriatric patients.
Responsibilities
- Evaluates patients pre-operatively and collaborates with anesthesiologists to select appropriate anesthesia.
- Monitors patient intraoperatively and postoperatively to ensure stability and safety.
- Performs airway management, fluid and homeostasis maintenance, emergency response, and ventilator management.
- Prepares drugs, checks equipment, and maintains supplies and controlled substances per departmental policies.
- Communicates with surgical team regarding patient concerns and supports staff and student nurse anesthetists.
- Ensures compliance with policies, procedures, and regulatory standards.
Requirements
- Graduation from an accredited Nurse Anesthesia program.
- Licensed as a Registered Nurse in California.
- Certified as a Registered Nurse Anesthetist and holds advanced certifications including ACLS and BLS.
- Experience in anesthesia for major procedures across various age groups, with skills in monitoring, documentation, and equipment management.
