About the Role

Provides anesthesia care under medical supervision for diverse patient groups, including neonatal to geriatric, during surgical, obstetrical, and other procedures. Responsibilities include airway management, fluid and homeostasis maintenance, monitoring, emergency response, and ventilator management.

Responsibilities

  • Evaluate patients pre-operatively and review relevant medical information.
  • Collaborate with anesthesiologists and surgeons to select appropriate anesthesia plans.
  • Administer anesthesia safely, monitor intraoperative and postoperative patient conditions, and respond to emergencies.
  • Check and prepare anesthesia equipment and drugs, maintain accurate controlled substance records.
  • Supervise student nurse anesthetists and maintain departmental supplies and equipment.
  • Comply with organizational policies, standards (TJC, Title 22), and legal requirements.
  • Establish professional, courteous interactions with patients, staff, and the public.

Requirements

  • Graduate of an accredited Nurse Anesthesia program.
  • California Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist (CRNA) and RN license.
  • Certifications in ACLS, BLS, and National Provider Identifier.
  • Experience in anesthesia for major procedures across all age groups, with proficiency in monitoring, fluid, blood, and electrolyte management.
  • Knowledge of equipment, documentation, and staff development skills.

Preferred Skills

  • Recent obstetric anesthesia experience, including epidural placement.

Schedule

Requires flexibility for a rotating schedule with variable shifts, including weekends.
