About the role
A medication assistant at Prairie Gate is responsible for assisting nurses in managing patient medications, ensuring accuracy and compliance with healthcare regulations.
Responsibilities
- Assist nurses in preparing and administering medications to patients as prescribed.
- Verify patient identification and medication orders before administration.
- Ensure all medications are stored and labeled correctly according to hospital policies.
- Document medication administration and patient responses accurately in the medical record.
- Collaborate with nursing staff to maintain a safe and organized medication storage area.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
- Experience in a healthcare setting preferred but not required.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to follow instructions.
Qualifications
- Excellent communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Knowledge of basic medical terminology and pharmacology.

Pay
The salary range for this position is $18.00 - $22.00 per hour.
Schedule
Shifts are typically Monday through Friday from 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM.
