About the role
The Foundation Health Partners is seeking a Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) to join their patient-centered healthcare team. The ideal candidate is committed to delivering exceptional care, promoting a positive patient experience, and contributing to the efficient operation of the clinic.
Responsibilities
- Assists clinicians and nursing staff in providing medical care as well as implementing and evaluating direct patient care.
- Prepares patient for exam and treatment by taking and recording vital signs, symptoms and other necessary measurements and recording chief complaint; documents pain scores as appropriate.
- Reports condition of patient which may be indicative of change in the patient's condition to the clinician.
- Aids providers with exams and minor in-office procedures, including taking patients' blood pressure, documenting respiration and heart rate/pulse, taking temperature, ear irrigation, and performing EKG's.
- Acts as a chaperon as needed.
- Uses universal blood and body fluid precautions at all times and personal protective equipment as needed.
- Prioritizes patient flow through clinical process.
- Collaborates with clinicians to ensure optimal patient care.
- Administers medications in accordance with established policies and procedures or as directed.
- Provides clerical support with patient/client notifications and documentation, which may include completing medical records, labs, authorizations, X-Rays, hospital records, and any previous care pertaining to each patient visit.
- Communicates test results to patient.
- Maintains a clean, functional environment including cleaning and disinfection of equipment, exam rooms, and storage areas.
- Orders supplies and stocks patient care areas.
- Maintains an up-to-date inventory including medication/injectables and immunizations (e.g. expired medications/equipment and recalls).
- Coordinates and manages patient care including pre-certifications, authorizations, prescriptions, and scheduling of patients.
- Communicates effectively with all external and internal customers.
- Completes all necessary on-boarding/orientation activities, including simulation training, as needed or directed.
Requirements
- High school diploma/GED or equivalent working knowledge.
- Knowledge as normally obtained through graduation from an Accredited Medical Assisting Program.
- Completion of an approved medical assistant training program as defined by state regulations.
- Medical Assistant Certification or Medical Assistant Registration is required.
- Current BLS certification.
- Skills and abilities typically attained with 1 year of medical clerical experience, preferably in a hospital or physician office setting, or prior experience in customer service.
- Excellent organizational skills as well as effective human relations and communication skills.
- Working knowledge of medical terminology and computer literacy and keyboarding skills.

Pay
Compensation $21.07 to $30.34 hourly wage based on experience and education.
Schedule
Full-time, 40 hours per week, 5x8 hour day shifts, M-F
