About the role

The Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) plays a key role in supporting patients and providers within our outpatient Behavioral Health Clinic. This position assists with clinical and administrative tasks that help ensure safe, efficient, and compassionate care. Working closely with a multidisciplinary team, the CMA helps create a supportive environment for patients while contributing to smooth clinic flow and high-quality behavioral health services.

Responsibilities

  • Assists with clinical and administrative tasks to support safe, efficient, and compassionate care
  • Works closely with a multidisciplinary team to create a supportive environment for patients
  • Coordinates and manages patient care including pre-certifications, authorizations, prescriptions, and scheduling of patients
  • Communicates test results to patients
  • Provides clerical support with patient/client notifications and documentation
  • Maintains a clean, functional environment including cleaning and disinfection of equipment, exam rooms, and storage areas
  • Orders supplies and stocks patient care areas
  • Maintains an effective communication mechanism with all external and internal customers
  • Completes all necessary on-boarding/orientation activities, including simulation training

Requirements

  • High school diploma/GED or equivalent working knowledge
  • Knowledge as normally obtained through graduation from an Accredited Medical Assisting Program
  • Completion of an approved medical assistant training program as defined by state regulations
  • Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) or Medical Assistant Registered
  • Current BLS certification
  • Excellent organizational skills as well as effective human relations and communication skills
  • Working knowledge of medical terminology and computer literacy and keyboarding skills

Qualifications

  • Recent healthcare experience preferred
  • Preferred qualifications include additional related education and/or experience

Skills

  • Medical Assistant Certification or Medical Assistant Registration
  • BLS certification
  • Excellent organizational skills
  • Effective human relations and communication skills
  • Working knowledge of medical terminology and computer literacy

Pay

Compensation $21.07 to $30.34 hourly wage based on experience and education

Schedule

Full-time, 40 hours per week, 10-hour shifts, Tues - Friday
