Responsibilities

  • Provide clinical and administrative support to physicians and advanced practice providers in a busy orthopedic outpatient practice.
  • Room patients, obtain and document medical histories, update medications and allergies, and maintain accurate patient records in the electronic medical record (EMR).
  • Prepare patient charts, process forms, review orders, initiate radiology orders for provider signature, and support accurate charge capture.
  • Prepare injections and assist with orthopedic treatments, including suture and staple removal, dressing changes, wraps, cast and splint application/removal, and durable medical equipment (DME) fitting.
  • Coordinate referrals, prior authorizations, prescription requests, and patient follow-up care.

Requirements

  • Education: Graduate of an accredited Medical Assistant program required.
  • Experience: 1 to 2 years of Medical Assistant experience preferred. Orthopedic or specialty clinic experience preferred.
  • License/Certifications: Current Medical Assistant certification required within 6 months of hire. Accepted certifications include Certified Medical Assistant (CMA), Registered Medical Assistant (RMA), or Certified Clinical Medical Assistant (CCMA). BLS certification required within 3 months of hire.

Skills

  • Strong clinical, communication, and organizational skills with the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
  • Experience with EMR systems preferred.
  • Knowledge of orthopedic procedures, injections, casting, splinting, DME application, patient education, insurance authorizations, and clinical documentation preferred.
  • Commitment to delivering exceptional patient care while supporting efficient clinic operations.

Full-Time, 36 hours per week, Monday‑Friday, 7:30 AM‑5:00 PM.
