About the role
The Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) plays a key role in supporting patients and providers within our outpatient Addiction Medicine Clinic. This position assists with clinical and administrative tasks that help ensure safe, efficient, and compassionate care. Working closely with a multidisciplinary team, the CMA helps create a supportive environment for patients while contributing to smooth clinic flow and high-quality behavioral health services.
Responsibilities
- Assists with clinical and administrative tasks to support safe, efficient, and compassionate care.
- Works closely with a multidisciplinary team to create a supportive environment for patients.
- Coordinates and manages patient care including pre-certifications, authorizations, prescriptions, and scheduling of patients.
- Communicates test results to patients.
- Administers medications in accordance with established policies and procedures or as directed.
- Provides clerical support with patient/client notifications and documentation, which may include completing medical records, labs, authorizations, X-Rays, hospital records, and any previous care pertaining to each patient visit.
- Maintains a clean, functional environment including cleaning and disinfection of equipment, exam rooms, and storage areas.
- Orders supplies and stocks patient care areas.
- Maintains an effective communication mechanism with all external and internal customers.
- Completes all necessary on-boarding/orientation activities, including simulation training, as needed or directed.
Requirements
- High school diploma/GED or equivalent working knowledge.
- Knowledge as normally obtained through graduation from an Accredited Medical Assisting Program.
- Completion of an approved medical assistant training program as defined by state regulations.
- Certification as a Medical Assistant (CMA).
- Current BLS certification.
Qualifications
- Skills and abilities typically attained with 1 year of medical clerical experience, preferably in a hospital or physician office setting, or prior experience in customer service.
- Excellent organizational skills as well as effective human relations and communication skills.
- Working knowledge of medical terminology and computer literacy and keyboarding skills.

- Universal blood and body fluid precautions.

Pay
Compensation is $21.07 to $30.34 hourly wage based on experience and education. Additional pay includes shift differential, annual increases, and paid time off.
Schedule
This position is part-time, working 30 hours per week, with shifts ranging from 3 to 10 hours.
