Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) - Outpatient Cardiology clinic

About the role

Our Porter Heart and Vascular Center is seeking a dedicated Certified Medical Assistant to join our team. The ideal candidate is a compassionate and skilled medical professional with a passion for cardiology.

Responsibilities

• Work closely with cardiologists and healthcare staff to provide exceptional patient care
• Conduct vital signs and prepare patients for exams
• Absorb and document patient symptoms and chief complaints
• Assist with exams and minor in-office procedures
• Communicate test results to patients
• Coordinate patient care including pre-certifications, authorizations, and scheduling
• Maintain a clean and functional environment
• Order supplies and stock patient care areas
• Monitor inventory and perform basic equipment maintenance
• Communicate effectively with all external and internal customers

Requirements

• High school diploma/GED or equivalent
• Completion of an accredited medical assistant training program
• Medical Assistant Certification or Registration
• Current BLS certification
• Excellent organizational and communication skills
• Working knowledge of medical terminology and computer literacy

Qualifications

• Recent healthcare experience preferred
• Preferred qualifications include:
• Knowledge of medical terminology
• Computer literacy and keyboarding skills

• Cardiopulmonary resuscitation techniques
• Universal blood and body fluid precautions

• Effective communication and interpersonal skills

Pay & Schedule

• Hourly wage range: $21.07 to $30.34 based on experience and education
• Retention bonus of $10,000 for 2 years
• Shift differential and annual increases
• Paid time off
