About the role
Our Porter Heart and Vascular Center is seeking a dedicated Certified Medical Assistant to join our team. The ideal candidate is a compassionate and skilled medical professional with a passion for cardiology.
Responsibilities
- Work closely with cardiologists and healthcare staff to provide exceptional patient care
- Conduct vital signs and prepare patients for exams
- Absorb and document patient symptoms and chief complaints
- Assist with exams and minor in-office procedures
- Communicate test results to patients
- Coordinate patient care including pre-certifications, authorizations, and scheduling
- Maintain a clean and functional environment
- Order supplies and stock patient care areas
- Monitor inventory and perform basic equipment maintenance
- Communicate effectively with all external and internal customers
Requirements
- High school diploma/GED or equivalent
- Completion of an accredited medical assistant training program
- Medical Assistant Certification or Registration
- Current BLS certification
- Excellent organizational and communication skills
- Working knowledge of medical terminology and computer literacy
Qualifications
- Recent healthcare experience preferred
- Preferred qualifications include:
- Knowledge of medical terminology
- Computer literacy and keyboarding skills

Pay & Schedule
- Hourly wage range: $21.07 to $30.34 based on experience and education
- Retention bonus of $10,000 for 2 years
- Shift differential and annual increases
- Paid time off
