About the role

The Certification Specialist supports site staff and assists with compliance duties related to affordable housing programs and regulatory compliance.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with property program compliance requirements including annual certification processes and agency reports.
  • Conduct applicant/resident certification interviews and gather eligibility documents.
  • Submit certification files to third-party auditors with high accuracy for quick approval.
  • Timely update internal tracking systems and respond to supervisors with work progress.
  • Support the initial qualifying process for new construction lease-up properties, re-syndications, and acquisitions/rehab of existing properties.
  • Communicate effectively with onsite staff, regional managers, and compliance team members.
  • Overnight and air travel may be required.
  • Enforce community rules and regulations, comply with Fair Housing Laws, and adhere to Management's Dress Code Policy.
  • Perform additional duties as directed by the supervisor.

Requirements

  • A minimum of 2 years' experience with affordable housing programs and regulatory compliance.
  • Experience with rent, income, and utility allowance adjustments and updates.
  • High school diploma or equivalency certificate, with a college degree in a relatable field preferred.
  • Affordable Housing/Tax Credit certification (C3P, HCCP, HCP-E, COS, TCS, CPO, FHC, NAHP, NAHPe, SCHM, etc.) preferred.
  • Valid Driver's License, good driving record, current motor vehicle insurance, and an operable vehicle.
  • Strong computer skills (MS Office, Google Apps, property management-related software, email, internet).

Qualifications

  • Must have a valid driver's license and a good driving record.

  • Must have an operable vehicle that meets driving standards and personal vehicle use policy.

Pay

$30 per hour to $34 per hour.
