About the role

The Central U.S. territory includes Ohio, Indiana, Kentucky, and West Virginia. This role requires sales coverage and management of both manufacturers' representatives and distributors within the designated area.

Responsibilities

  • Analyze customer needs and formulate solutions to sell value by utilizing all agent and company resources available.
  • Provide information to customers on new and current products, pricing structure, and delivery status.
  • Seek new uses and applications for company products with existing and prospective customers.
  • Develop individual sales strategy for each account in the designated territory to optimize bookings.
  • Recommend and attend Industrial Trade Shows for the purpose of developing new markets.
  • Oversee direct preparation of proposals, contracts, amendments, and supporting promotional activities.
  • Provide support for projects and testing, after the order, whether it is internal (within Fives Cutting Tool and Abrasive personnel), or external (with customer).
  • Collect business intelligence and submit special reports regarding the operation of the territory, acceptance or rejection of products, and competitive conditions beneficial to other salespeople and company operation.
  • Recommend the addition of new products, services, and the modification or deletion of present products to the line as appropriate.
  • Achieve prompt, mutually satisfactory solutions to customer complaints.
  • Travel within the Ohio, Indiana, Kentucky, and West Virginia areas.
  • Manage Fives’ manufacturers’ representatives that are in the RSM’s territory, including but not limited to; team selling to customers, training, reporting, etc.
  • Manage Fives’ distributors that are responsible for the RSM’s accounts, including but not limited to; team selling to customers, training, reporting, etc.
  • Maintain accurate forecasting as a must and an integral part of meeting company sales objectives.
  • Represent Fives Landis Corp. Cutting Tools and Abrasives as an industry leader to customers, suppliers, professional colleagues, and employees.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree (BA/SB) in Business, Engineering, or a related technical discipline.
  • Minimum 3+ years of field sales experience or 5+ years of technical/service experience.
  • Proven knowledge of cutting tools and abrasives products (preferred).
  • Experience with statistical analysis, SPC (Statistical Process Control), and process improvement tools.
  • Strong technical sales, presentation, and customer engagement skills.
  • Exceptional interpersonal, communication, and relationship building abilities.
  • Self-motivated, high-energy professional with the ability to work independently.
  • Willingness to travel up to 60% to support and grow customer relationships.
  • Residency in Ohio or Indiana (required).
  • Passion for innovation and contributing to a collaborative, forward-thinking work environment.

Qualifications

Pay

Pay Range: 75K – 90K plus commission (rate offered will be commensurate with experience)

Schedule

Travel within the Ohio, Indiana, Kentucky, and West Virginia areas.
