About the role
This role will specifically support employment services. At CWS, our team knows they are making a difference every day by working towards a world where everyone has food, a voice and a safe place to call home. The Case Manager will empower newcomers to successfully integrate into their communities through comprehensive case management services.
Responsibilities
- Enroll eligible clients into the program and provide orientation and on-going case management services throughout the program service period
- Develop, create, and maintain employment solutions for refugees and other ORR-eligible clients
- Assess clients’ employability and assist with development, formulation and implementation of employment service plan, resumes and job applications
- Work with clients to remove barriers to employment and realize the goal of family self-sufficiency
- Identify support services that may assist clients in becoming self-sufficient, such as ESL, transportation, immigration services, and childcare
- Identify job opportunities, assist with application completion, coordinate interviews, advocate for clients and follow-up with employers
- Manage ORR-eligible cases, ensuring timely delivery of services and fulfillment of requirements outlined in the RSS Providers Manual
- Complete all case notes and program documentation, ensuring accuracy and compliance within program guidelines and confirming timely delivery of services
- Ensure timely data entry into agency and state funder databases
- Provide safe, timely, and supervised transport for clients to off-site appointments or activities as needed
- Provide or organize on-the-job interpretation services as needed
- Communicate, coordinate and promote program within the community and with partners; respond promptly to employer requests and inquiries
- Serve as a local representative during presentations and meetings with external community resources
- Identify new referral resources that will facilitate and assist clients in self-sufficiency
- Serve as an advocate for clients
- Perform other duties as assigned
Qualifications
- Education and Experience: Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in lieu of degree; 3–4 years’ experience working with refugees or immigrants, and previous employment case management experience
- Other Skills: Strongly preferred that candidates are bilingual in English and a refugee language; computer literate with proficiency in MS Office Suite (Word and Excel) and internet applications
- Exceptional organizational and time management skills required
- Excellent communication skills are essential, including an ability to communicate in a trauma-informed, positive, caring, and professional manner, demonstrating respect and empathy
- Ability to work in a multi-cultural environment required
- Commitment and willingness to support CWS’ Platform on Racial Justice as a CWS employee required
