Maine Township High School District 207 announces a vacancy for an Administrative Assistant - 12 month Career Coordinator.
Responsibilities
- Coordinate and implement all on-campus career and postsecondary readiness activities, including admissions advising, application workshops, financial aid workshops, essay-writing sessions, resume and interview workshops, and college/career fairs.
- Develop and deliver engaging workshops and classroom presentations that support student postsecondary readiness.
- Lead parent education programming focused on college admissions, financial aid, postsecondary planning, and career options.
- Utilize career experience platforms, social networking tools, and relevant technology to strengthen student access to opportunities.
- Aid in tracking student completion of career pathway requirements and reporting progress as needed.
- Provide individualized and group advising to students on college research, applications, academic planning, financial aid, scholarships, and career exploration.
- Conduct follow-up support for recent graduates who remain undecided about postsecondary plans.
- Guide students through interpreting admission guidelines, academic standards, and program requirements.
- Support students in developing strong application materials, including essays, resumes, portfolios, and interview preparation.
- Collaborate with counseling staff, department chairs, and other departments to plan workshops, guest speakers, and field trip opportunities.
- Schedule career visits, job shadowing placements, and career experience opportunities.
- Collaborate in developing community partnerships that expand student access to diverse career pathways.
- Organize and execute post-secondary and career events for students and families, including but not limited to, Post-Secondary Expo, Job and Volunteer Fair.
- Promote a positive image of the District and foster community engagement around college and career initiatives.
- Support staff in addressing student postsecondary inquiries and serve as a resource across departments.
- Prepare periodic progress reports to monitor results and recommend adjustments to improve student postsecondary outcomes.
- Establish systems to track student participation, application metrics, scholarships, and pathway progress.
- Prepare and present term review reports to the Associate Principal for Student and Family Services, comparing planned objectives with achieved results and outlining next-term goals.
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation of program activities, student contacts, and program participation.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in a relevant field required.
- Experience in college admissions, career services, or higher education strongly preferred.
- Demonstrated ability to provide college and career advising to diverse student populations.
- Demonstrated initiative in collaboration, project planning, and service delivery.
- Strong interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.

- Participate in professional development to stay informed about trends in college admissions, career readiness, and workforce development.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor or administration.
Salary & Benefits
- 12-month (260 paid days) - Start Date tbd
- Total Number of Paid Hours/Day: 7.75
- Total Number of Paid Hours: 2,015
- Base Salary range from $67,000.00 - $80,000.00 (based on experience & prorated first year based on start date)
