About the role
We are seeking a Human Resource Coordinator to support and enhance our HR functions as we grow. This role is vital for maintaining smooth operations in onboarding, employee engagement, and compliance.
Responsibilities
- Maintain the confidentiality of personal employee information in the HRIS system, company information, records, and related issues in accordance with all applicable laws.
- Collection of new hire information for payroll, entering information into the HRIS system and the Timekeeping system.
- Filing of documents pertaining to employee personnel files, medical files, and work compensation files.
- Provides guidance/directs employees appropriately when HR related questions or concerns arise.
- Performs necessary research and work to escalate and resolve basic HR related issues and questions.
- Responsible for all contract job bidding procedures, including job bid postings, shift preferences, changes in shift start times.
- Reading and understanding resumes relating to multiple job descriptions.
- Completing multiple phone calls, a day regarding applications in various job postings.
- Initiating and completing all pre-hire requirements, ie background, physical, and drug screening.
- Communicates all orientation schedules and locations to EHS Training team and new hires.
- Following up with candidates to ensure all pre-hire requirements are completed before the hire date.
- Answering and assisting employees and agencies with employment and wage verification forms and questions.
- Communication with employees about any issues, questions, and concerns.
- As well, as posting notices of all communication throughout the plant.
- Answering all incoming calls for the Human Resources Department and directing employees, vendors, and public to the appropriate person or answering questions if possible.
Requirements
- A Four year College Degree preferred
- Two - Five years experience in Human Resources
- Dayforce experience is a plus
- Ability to work with minimal mistakes in a fast-paced environment
- Experience with employee benefits, including: Health Insurance, 401K Company Life Insurance
- Previous recruiting experience is a must
- Maintain the strictest level of confidentiality with organizational information
- Strong organizational, problem solving and math skills
- Strong communication skills (both verbal and written)
- Proficient with Microsoft Outlook, Word and Excel and Power Point
- Advanced Excel Skill Set required
- Ability to work effectively alone and prioritize
- Must be able to manage multiple projects
- Highly motivated, service and team-oriented individual with an attention to detail
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Enthusiasm for challenge and new initiatives are prerequisites
- Strong analytical ability
- Strong working knowledge of HR State and Federal Employment Laws. DOL, FLSA, EEOC, GINA, FMLA, ADA, ERISA
- Demonstrated good internal customer service skills
- Knowledge of DOT hiring compliance is a plus
- PHR or SHRM-CP certification is a plus
