About the Role
The Department of Radiology at the Perelman School of Medicine at the University of Pennsylvania seeks candidates for several Assistant Professor positions in the non-tenure clinician educator track. The successful candidate will join the Cardiovascular Imaging Division, which offers specialized expertise to the world-renowned Penn Aorta Program and performs a high volume of advanced imaging procedures, including:
- Coronary computed tomography angiography (CTA)
- CT scans for structural heart disease, TAVR (transcatheter aortic valve replacement), TMVR (transcatheter mitral valve replacement), and TTVR (transcatheter tricuspid valve replacement)
- Cardiac MRI for various clinical indications
Radiologists collaborate closely with cardiologists to provide comprehensive care across multiple locations: the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania, Penn Presbyterian Medical Center, Pennsylvania Hospital, Philadelphia Veterans Affairs Medical Center, and affiliated outpatient imaging centers in Pennsylvania and New Jersey.
Responsibilities
- Interpret all aspects of cardiovascular radiology, including cardiac CT, cardiac MRI, and vascular CTA/MRA
- Provide daily clinical supervision of residents and cardiovascular imaging fellows
- Lecture to medical students, radiology residents, fellows, and trainees from other departments
- Participate in shared after-hours and weekend coverage
- Develop a focused body of research in cardiovascular radiology, with opportunities in novel imaging techniques, MR/CT physics, health services research, health policy, and artificial intelligence
- Produce peer-reviewed scholarship in a collaborative environment that encourages partnerships across clinical disciplines, basic scientists, and beyond the School of Medicine
Requirements
- M.D. or M.D./Ph.D. or equivalent degree
- American Board of Radiology certified or eligible
- Appropriate sub-specialty training in cardiovascular radiology
- Prior research experience with demonstrated evidence of peer-reviewed scholarship
