Cardiothoracic Surgery Physician Associate Needed for Locum Tenens Coverage atOR in Indiana

About the role

This role involves providing cardiothoracic surgery coverage across inpatient, outpatient, and operating room settings.

Responsibilities

• Morning patient rounds, updating care plans, writing orders, post-operative care, and discharge planning
• Serve as first assist in the operating room and perform vein harvesting using the Maquet system
• Manage approximately 15-20 patients per day, with outpatient consults averaging around 10 daily
• Maintain clinical documentation via EPIC EMR system
• Provide patient care in inpatient, outpatient, and OR environments
• Manage a caseload of adult patients
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and support staff

Schedule

• Weekday hours from 7:00 AM to 4:00 PM
• Night and weekend 24-hour call coverage

Qualifications & Skills

• Board certification in relevant specialty
• Prescriptive authority required
• Experience in cardiothoracic surgery setting preferred
