We are looking for a Call Center Specialist to support customers with a wide range of banking-related inquiries in Charlottesville, Virginia. This is a contract position.
Responsibilities
- Respond to inbound customer calls regarding account balances, transaction activity, and general banking questions with a high level of accuracy and professionalism.
- Assist clients with payment processing, fund transfers, and other routine banking transactions while following established procedures and controls.
- Support customers who need to open new accounts, request replacement or new cards, and place check orders through the appropriate banking channels.
- Handle collection-related interactions by discussing past-due accounts, explaining payment options, and documenting customer commitments clearly.
- Review account information carefully to provide complete and accurate details while maintaining confidentiality and compliance standards.
- Resolve service issues efficiently by identifying customer needs, clarifying next steps, and escalating complex matters when necessary.
- Maintain detailed records of customer conversations, account updates, and transaction activities in internal systems.
- Contribute to a fast-paced call center environment by managing call volume effectively and delivering a consistent customer experience.
Requirements
- Previous experience in a call center, customer support, or banking operations role.
- Background in consumer or commercial collections, billing follow-up, or credit-related account support is preferred.
- Familiarity with banking services such as payments, transfers, account maintenance, and electronic banking transactions.
- Strong verbal communication skills with the ability to explain account details clearly and professionally.
- Ability to manage sensitive customer interactions with patience, accuracy, and sound judgment.
- Comfortable using multiple systems to review account information, document activity, and complete service requests.
- High attention to detail and ability to follow procedures in a regulated financial environment.
