About the role
Latitude Legal is seeking California-licensed Litigation Attorneys with prior deposition experience to support a nationally recognized law firm's large-scale deposition project on a part-time (3 days per week) engagement basis. This is a fully remote role, and candidates may be located anywhere in the United States, provided they are available during West Coast business hours.
Responsibilities
- Take and defend depositions in a large-scale construction defect matter; it is anticipated that candidates will conduct 3 depositions per day, 3 days per week, with the option to add any additional days when internal attorneys are unavailable.
- Prepare for and conduct fully remote depositions independently via Microsoft Teams, including review of case materials, prior discovery, and coordination with the litigation team.
- Work closely with the office's Managing Attorney and client teams to ensure consistent deposition strategy and execution.
- Provide limited additional litigation support as needed (e.g., discovery follow-up, deposition summaries, or targeted research), with depositions remaining the primary responsibility.
- Manage workload efficiently in a fully remote environment, maintaining professionalism, organization, and responsiveness throughout the engagement.
Requirements
- California-licensed litigation attorney with prior experience conducting civil litigation depositions; comfort running depositions independently is essential.
- Comfortable using Microsoft Teams for virtual depositions; no additional specialized skills required.
- Construction defect or insurance defense experience is a plus, but not required.
- Open to attorneys at a range of experience levels; no team leadership responsibilities are required for this role.
- Organized, professional, and comfortable working full-time or part-time on a high-volume, time-bound project.
- Available during West Coast business hours and comfortable working fully remotely.
- Licensed to practice law in California and in good standing.
- J.D. from an accredited law school.

Pay
The annualized pay for this position ranges from $180,000 to $200,000 when calculated on a full-time basis. Pay for contract engagements is based on multiple factors including but not limited to work experience, qualifications, credentials, location, market supply/demand, and the candidate’s preference (each candidate’s pay rate affects the client bill rate which can affect the candidate’s competitiveness for the position).
