Hemet Hills Post Acute is looking for a motivated and detail-oriented Business Office Assistant to join our team in a fast-paced healthcare environment, providing exceptional administrative and customer service support.
About the role
The Business Office Assistant supports daily operations by assisting with resident accounts, admissions paperwork, insurance verification, billing support, record management, and general administrative duties. This position works closely with residents, families, facility leadership, and various departments to ensure efficient business office operations.
Responsibilities
- Assist with resident admission, transfer, and discharge paperwork.
- Provide administrative support to the Business Office Manager and facility leadership.
- Help maintain resident financial records and account documentation.
- Assist with insurance verification and authorization processes.
- Process and track resident trust account transactions as directed.
- Answer phones, greet visitors, and provide excellent customer service to residents and families.
- Maintain organized files and ensure accurate recordkeeping.
- Assist with accounts receivable follow-up and collection efforts.
- Support census reporting and administrative projects.
- Maintain confidentiality of resident and financial information in accordance with HIPAA regulations.
- Collaborate with Admissions, Nursing, Medical Records, and other departments to promote smooth facility operations.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Previous experience in a healthcare, skilled nursing, medical office, business office, or administrative support role preferred.
- Knowledge of Medicare, Medicaid, and insurance processes is a plus.
- Strong organizational and multitasking abilities.
- Excellent customer service and communication skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Outlook, Word, and Excel.
- Experience with PointClickCare (PCC) or other healthcare software systems preferred.
- Ability to work independently while contributing to a collaborative team environment.

Pay
$20.00 - $25.00 per hour, depending on experience.
