About the Role

As a Business Development Representative, you are responsible for generating new client business through prospecting, networking, and following up on recommendations, along with attending trade shows and conferences. You will cultivate relationships with existing clients and grow profitable business within the agency. Success in this role requires building relationships at various levels within agency organizations and comfort interacting in both business and social settings.

Responsibilities

  • Provide best-in-class service to all levels of our agent base.
  • Develop customer accounts and build strong, long-lasting relationships with assigned agents.
  • Produce professionally written proposals and communications for clientele and internal use.
  • Review agent-presented RFPs and assist in evaluating participation opportunities.
  • Collaborate with underwriting and claims counterparts.
  • Participate in association committees and regularly attend industry events.
  • Conduct agent visits to provide information and gather industry knowledge.
  • Review accounts monthly and prepare corrective action plans as needed.
  • Implement actions to maintain agent profitability.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience.
  • Prior insurance industry knowledge and experience.
  • Sales personality with a customer-focused mentality.
  • Previous experience with sales and business development.
  • Ability to build and maintain strategic relationships and engage with prospects.
  • Strong leadership skills.
  • Must be authorized to work for any employer in the U.S. (no sponsorship available).
