About the role
The Business Development Representative (BDR) role is a structured 6–12 month sales development program designed to build the foundation for a successful career as a licensed Sales Agent. This role serves as the entry point into our sales organization, where you'll master outbound prospecting, learn workers' compensation fundamentals, and develop the skills needed to succeed in a high-performance sales environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Execute a high volume of outbound cold calls (100+ daily) to identify and qualify prospective clients
- Solicit insurance opportunities through phone outreach using company systems and tools
- Follow established scripts and training protocols to overcome objections and qualify leads
- Accurately log all activity in Salesforce to ensure smooth handoff to Sales Agents
- Collaborate with Sales Coaches and team members to drive performance and growth
- Participate in daily huddles, weekly coaching sessions, and call reviews
- Complete required licensing coursework within the first 4 months
- Maintain operations by adhering to company policies, procedures, and compliance standards
- Maintain a safe, clean, and professional work environment

Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED required
- Prior sales or customer service experience preferred

- Typing speed of 65–75 WPM preferred
Training & Development
- Week 1 Onboarding: Introduction to workers' compensation, systems, and sales processes
- Ongoing Coaching: Weekly 1:1 sessions, call reviews, and performance tracking
- Daily Huddles: Team motivation, strategy alignment, and recognition
Career Path
Successful completion of the program (6–12 months) leads to promotion into a Sales Agent role, contingent upon obtaining the required state license through an external, off-site process.
