About the role
The Business Development Coordinator contributes to the growth and development of the firm, ensuring accurate collection of client information.
Responsibilities
- Liaise with management to develop business plans for the company.
- Implement plans towards strategic marketing of company’s products.
- Provide an enabling environment for complementing the company’s business plan strategically developed towards better profit-making.
- Develop modalities towards overcoming competition and setting the business up as a leader in the company’s chosen niche.
- Oversee processes involved in business development as a representative of the firm.
- Understand the firm’s business operations and status, including specific opportunities, competitive landscape, and business trends to improve service delivery and profit-making.
- Identify all potential leads towards placing the firm on a solid profit-making foundation.
- Collect and share industrial and market intelligence among staff and management.
- Collaborate with other staff members towards better execution of the firm’s plans and business development activities.
- Evaluate trade associations and professionals that can positively impact business practices in the firm.
- Liaise with relevant staff in proposal development and track the success ratio of such proposals.
- Develop and maintain profiles specific to the firm.
- Execute, organize, and plan various firm activities (e.g., client receptions, webinars, and seminars).
- Work with the marketing department to strengthen the firm’s integrity.
- Travel (multiple states) with multiple night stays (2-4 days) as required for attending industry events (30% minimum travel).
- Coordinate and facilitate conferences, including scheduling, shipping, lodging, travel, and maintenance of promotional materials.
- Gather relevant information for business development staff.
- Track, retrieve, review, distribute, and store trade show booth inventory and promotional items; generate memos regarding selection, ordering, and inventory tracking.
- Conduct CRM cleanup tasks, including deduplication of contacts, information, and companies.
- Acquire and implement knowledge about the firm in day-to-day duties.
Requirements
- A minimum of a bachelor’s degree in business, administrative studies, communication, public relations, marketing, or a related discipline.
- 3 years of relevant experience in Business Development or Sales within the Architecture, Engineering, and Construction (A/E/C) industry.

- Proficiency in MS Excel, Word, Outlook, Teams, Office 365, and SharePoint.

- Ability to work in a team environment.
- Ability to effectively manage conflict (e.g., calendar schedules, booth set-up).
- Ability to prioritize and organize while working autonomously.
Physical Demands
- Must be able to sit and/or stand for long periods of time.
- Able to lift 30 lbs.
- Able to handle stressful situations and multitasking.
- Able to work under time constraints; long hours may be required.
- Must have a valid driver’s license.
Work Environment

- Works in a normal office environment.
- Must be able to work 40+ hours per week; outside core hours may be required as needed.
