Bus Chaperone

About the role

Since 1994, SPORTIME has operated tennis and sports facilities across New York State, with 20 club locations including SPORTIME Randall's Island. The organization offers 192 indoor/outdoor tennis courts, 131 pickleball courts, rinks, turf, camps, gyms, and programs such as the John McEnroe Tennis Academy and SPORTIME Volleyball Club, serving individuals of all ages and abilities year‑round.

Responsibilities

• Act in a professional and courteous manner at all times.
• Facilitate the transfer of children from their respective schools to the buses.
• Facilitate the transfer of children from the buses to their guardians.
• Emphasize safety at all times.
• Maintain order during trips to ensure safety.
• Report all incidents of misconduct in a timely manner.
• Ensure that all students are secured safely in their seat belts at all times while the vehicle is in operation.
• Account for all students who are on the bus roster.
• Maintain accurate attendance records.

Skills Required

• Common sense approach
• A track record of working with children
• Must have a warm, approachable personality
• Very good communication skills
• Ability to command the respect as an adult figure to the junior members

Schedule

Full-time, Monday‑Friday 12:00 pm‑7:00 pm

Pay

$19.00/hour
