Bus Paraprofessional

About the Role

The Bus Aide works under supervision to ensure safe and comfortable transportation of District students. If transporting children with special needs, the Bus Aide is responsible for securing students appropriately for transport to and from school.

Pay

Starting pay range: $14.09 hourly

Requirements

• High School diploma or GED
• Must have or be able to obtain CPR certification
• TB Test and Physical Certification on file (able to obtain once employed)
• Commitment to continue career improvement
• Ability to keep information confidential
• Ability to follow written or spoken instructions without close supervision
• Must be able to assess concerns and complaints of students and report them to the Bus Driver when appropriate
• Must be able to operate all doors, windows, and lifts on various school buses
• Must be able to properly use car seats, seat belts, safety restraints, and harnesses
• Must be able to move a wheelchair onto the bus and secure it properly
• Must be able to pass a criminal background check
