About the role

The Box Office Manager oversees all ticket office operations, ensuring efficient and effective service delivery through strong leadership, staff training, event management, and operational oversight. This role fosters collaborative relationships with promoters, artist representatives, regional leadership, and venue team members while directing departmental planning, administration, and policy implementation. The Box Office Manager maintains accurate show records, customer databases, and reporting systems to support informed decision-making and exceptional customer experiences.

Responsibilities

  • Create events with appropriate ticketing software, ensuring accuracy and timely response to needs for General Manager, Manager Ticketing, Talent Buyers, and Rental Clients.
  • Assist in building and maintaining the event ticketing system, managing seating inventory from event build through settlement with a strong emphasis on delegation to staff.
  • Manage box office staffing and scheduling, including hiring, training, and empowering staff to follow all departmental guidelines and practices.
  • Ensure equipment is functioning appropriately and verify correct ticket sales; update ticket and show-related information in internal software.
  • Maintain continuous rapport between artist management and venue for ticket needs and sales.
  • Attend production promotion meetings and collaborate with the booking department to program events correctly.
  • Lead staff in proper Customer Service Policies, resolving customer (internal and external) issues and interfacing with other departments to ensure consistent, courteous, respectful, and timely service.
  • Prepare and provide pertinent reports to the finance department and other stakeholders, including event settlement reports and ticket counts, with a focus on training and communication on internal ticketing programs.
  • Oversee ticket inventory and pricing, including dynamic pricing initiatives, and advance items essential for program functionality and on-site execution.
  • Facilitate backend sales and provide data-driven insights to inform pricing adjustments and identify revenue opportunities.
  • Respond to venue customer inquiries through dedicated channels, providing timely and professional assistance.
  • Implement initiatives for VIP and Platinum ticketing.
  • Generate and provide input on collateral, sales, and marketing materials; act as departmental liaison to coworkers, venues, management, and agencies.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent (BA/BS Degree preferred).
  • 4-6 years of related work experience.
  • Previous experience in the music industry and event planning.
  • Prior supervisory experience.
  • Experience with ticketing systems and basic knowledge of databases.
  • Strong math aptitude with a focus on detail and accuracy.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and Outlook).
  • Strong interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong time management and customer service skills.
  • Attention to detail and moderate to complex problem-solving skills.
  • Able to multitask and prioritize a heavy workload in a fast-paced environment.
  • Knowledge of industry best practices.
  • Proven ability to manage and lead a team.

Pay

$59,564.55 - $65,000.00 annually. This position is eligible for a bonus under the current bonus plan requirements.
