About the role
Kings Theatre, a 3k capacity historic theatre in Flatbush, Brooklyn is seeking an experienced ticketing professional to join our team as Box Office Manager. The Manager will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of the box office, ensuring smooth operations, and contributing to the success of every event.
Responsibilities
- Reports to the Director of Ticketing and manages part-time box office staff.
- Serves as the primary ticketing contact for events from confirmation through settlement, including upsells and premium products.
- Buils and maintains events within the ticketing system, including inventory management and pricing optimization.
- Collaborates with the central ticketing team, general management, marketing, promoters, and artist teams to maximize sales and upsell revenue.
- Processes ticket orders, supports customer inquiries, places holds and releases tickets in a timely manner.
- Manages the hiring, training, scheduling, supervision and payroll processing of all Box Office staff.
- Oversees nightly Box Office operations (sales, will-call, scanning, etc.) and prepares event settlement reports.
- Audits daily ticket sales and provides management reporting, including ticket counts and end-of-day sales figures.
- Ensures all cash handling policies and procedures are followed and documented.
- Stays current with ticketing trends and technologies in the industry.
- Serves as manager-on-duty when needed.
- Other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in a Ticketing or Box Office role.
- Supervisory experience preferred.
- Demonstrated knowledge of ticket selling/box office operations.
- Thorough understanding of ticketing systems including but not limited to AudienceView and Ticketmaster.
- Ability to manage a high volume of emails and inquiries.
- Excellent customer service, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to multitask while maintaining quality and accurate work.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications (Outlook, Excel, Word, etc.).
- A passion for live music and entertainment.
