Job Responsibilities
Responsible for maintenance and upkeep of landscape and grounds and equipment at SC Training Sites, Fountain Inn (30 acres), Hodges (30 acres) and Donaldson Center / AASF #2 (Greenville) FMS1 Shop Greenville Armory Old Greenville Technical College Aviation School Greenville.
- Performs mowing, edging and maintenance of grassed areas and weed control.
- Maintenance of shrub beds, pruning shrubbery, clipping and trimming trees and shrubs.
- Operates necessary equipment and tools.
- Perform maintenance of roads and grounds that includes the operations of small and heavy equipment, to include agricultural tractors, industrial lawn mowers, weed eaters, chainsaws, edges, trimmers, blowers, and other landscaping equipment as needed.
- Preventive maintenance and minor repairs to vehicles and equipment.
- Transport and haul equipment to perform daily job functions.
Minimum And Additional Requirements
- A high school diploma and custodial or grounds keeping experience directly related to the area of employment.
- Valid South Carolina Driver’s license.
- Ability to bend, stoop, crouch, kneel, and stand for long periods of time.
- Ability to climb and work from ladders, stairs, and scaffolding.
- Ability to lift and carry up to 50/75 lbs.
- Ability to work in confined spaces; hot, hazardous, and noisy locations; and in adverse weather conditions.
- Participation in the on-call program and to work after hours, as on call technician.
