Job Responsibilities
- Audit, analyze, and adjust residential, commercial, and demand account billing, including investigating unusual usage, processing billing corrections, and resolving member billing concerns.
- Manage account transactions including deposits, refunds, electronic fund transfers (EFTs), returned payments, prepaid account adjustments, and commercial account billing.
- Provide billing support and information to members, branch offices, field personnel, and internal departments regarding account activity, usage inquiries, Coast Electric and CoastConnect services, and related programs.
- Maintain accurate records and assist with account research, reporting, and documentation related to audits, bankruptcies, probates, and other billing related matters.
Job Requirements
- High School Diploma or equivalent required; high school diploma preferred.
- At least one year of experience in customer service, billing, accounting support, banking, finance, or a related field.
- Experience with utility billing, account auditing, payment processing, account reconciliation, or customer account management preferred.
- Experience working with large volumes of data and generating reports preferred.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, including the ability to professionally assist members, coworkers, and the public in person, by phone and in writing.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel and Word, and the ability to work with databases and computerized business systems.
- Strong analytical, mathematical, and problem-solving skills with attention to detail and accuracy.
- Able to organize work, manage multiple priorities, maintain confidentiality, and exercise sound judgment while working independently and as part of a team.
- Able to interpret and communicate billing, account, and usage information clearly and effectively.
