Barista - Riley - Days

This position is 20 hrs/wk, 6am-3pm with rotating Saturdays.

About the role

Prepares, plates, serves, and transports food and supplies to provide a high level of satisfaction for a diverse customer base, including patients, family members, physicians, other employees, and the public. Responsible for quick, accurate, and courteous service, resolution of customer concerns, and adherence to sanitation, cleaning, and infection control practices to ensure food safety. Operates a variety of food service and computer equipment.

Responsibilities

• Preparing handcrafted coffee, espresso drinks, and other menu items.
• Operating coffee equipment, including espresso machines and cash registers.
• Preparing and serving sandwiches, pastries, snacks, and other food items.
• Providing quick, accurate, and courteous customer service to patients, visitors, physicians, and staff.
• Maintaining cleanliness and sanitation of work areas and equipment to meet food safety and infection control standards.
• Working efficiently in a fast-paced environment while multitasking and maintaining quality service.

Requirements

• High school diploma, GED, or equivalent experience is preferred.
• Prior food service experience is preferred but not required.
• Ability to operate kitchen equipment.
• Must be able to wear protective equipment/clothing required by the environment or government regulations (e.g., gowns, gloves, goggles, rubber-soled closed-toe footwear).
• Adherence to local health regulations and safety requirements to produce safe food for consumption.
• Ability to climb ladders.

Physical requirements

• Reaching, standing for long periods of time, squatting, bending.
• Carrying and/or lifting supplies and equipment weighing 35 lbs. or more, up to 80% of the time.
