BARISTA

About the Role
The Barista is a team member of the Front of House, responsible for superior customer satisfaction through drink accuracy, efficiency, and upholding company core values. This role serves as a role model for company culture, ensuring the highest standards in guest experience, drink quality, and a clean, friendly, and safe environment. The Barista reports to the Shift Leader and General Manager and must complete General Team Member and Barista Training Certifications.
Responsibilities
- Deliver superior customer service through fast, efficient, and accurate drink production to company standards.
- Continuously test drink products for taste, appearance, and consistency.
- Maintain and clean the barista station, including timely upkeep of machines and equipment.
- Demonstrate in-depth knowledge of the entire drink menu, including ingredients, modifications, allergens, and upcharge costs.
- Educate customers about coffee beans, drinks, and menu options.
- Support the Front of House team by professionally greeting and guiding customers through the ordering process.
- Complete Primary and Secondary Responsibilities and Daily Duties at a superior level.
- Maintain composure during high-volume periods to uphold store standards.
- Handle inside, drive-thru, and phone orders as needed.
- Operate the Point of Sale (POS) system and perform duties of other team members when required.
- Follow proper cash handling procedures at all times.
- Address customer complaints and escalate to the Shift Leader or General Manager.
- Keep company passwords and intellectual property confidential.
- Exhibit a positive, professional attitude and appearance at all times.
- Adhere to all company policies, procedures, systems, and processes.
- Maintain regular and predictable attendance.
Schedule
Scheduled working hours range from Sunday to Saturday, 5:30 AM to 5:30 PM, with shifts varying from 4 to 8 hours in length.
Requirements
- 18+ years of age.
- High school graduate.
- Prior customer service experience preferred but not required.
- Prior Barista experience preferred but not required.
- Dependable, honest, trustworthy, and demonstrates integrity.
- Positive attitude and strong personal drive.
- Courteous and enthusiastic demeanor.
- Willingness and ability to learn in a fast-paced environment.
- Exceptional communication and guest service skills.
- Basic math and computer skills.
- Proficiency on Aloha POS preferred but not required.
- Ability to handle multiple tasks efficiently.
- Successful completion of General Team Member and Barista Training Certifications.
- Ability to learn and retain knowledge of company products and procedures.
- Availability to work weekends.
- Reliable transportation.
