About the role
The Barista is a team member of the Front of House, responsible for superior customer satisfaction through drink accuracy, efficiency, and upholding company core values. This role reports directly to the Shift Leader and General Manager, ensuring policies, procedures, and training certifications are successfully completed.
Responsibilities
- Deliver superior customer service through fast, efficient, and accurate drink production to company standards.
- Maintain and clean the barista station, including regular upkeep of machines and equipment.
- Test all drink products for taste, appearance, and consistency to align with company standards.
- Demonstrate in-depth knowledge of the entire drink menu, including ingredients, modifications, allergens, and upcharge costs.
- Educate customers about coffee beans, drinks, and other menu items.
- Support the Front of House team by greeting customers professionally, guiding them through the menu, and processing orders efficiently with a positive attitude.
- Complete primary, secondary, and daily duties at a superior level.
- Maintain composure during high-volume periods to uphold store standards and set a positive example for the team.
- Handle inside, drive-thru, and phone orders as needed.
- Operate a Point of Sale (POS) system and perform tasks of other team members when required.
- Follow proper cash handling procedures at all times.
- Address customer complaints and escalate to the Shift Leader or General Manager as needed.
- Maintain confidentiality of company passwords and intellectual property.
- Exhibit a positive, helpful attitude and professional conduct and appearance at all times.
- Adhere to all company policies, procedures, systems, and processes.
- Ensure regular and predictable attendance.
Requirements
- 18+ years of age.
- High school graduate.
- Prior customer service experience preferred; prior Barista experience preferred but not required.
- Dependable, honest, trustworthy, and possesses integrity.
- Positive attitude, great personal drive, and enthusiasm.
- Willingness and ability to learn in a fast-paced sales environment.
- Exceptional communication and guest service skills.
- Basic math and computer skills; proficiency on Aloha POS preferred but not required.
- Ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously and efficiently.
- Successful completion of General Team Member Training Certification and Barista Training Certification.
- Ability to learn and maintain knowledge of company products and procedures.
- Availability to work weekends and reliable transportation.

Schedule
Scheduled working hours range from Sunday to Saturday, 5:30 AM to 5:30 PM, with shifts varying from 4 to 8 hours in length.
