Responsibilities
- Kitchen Operations: Oversee back of the house operations, including food preparation, cooking, and plating. Ensure compliance with Chick-fil-A’s food quality and safety standards.
- Team Management: Supervise kitchen staff, coordinate activities, and provide training, coaching, and performance feedback.
- Quality Control: Monitor food quality, presentation, and portioning, address issues, and implement corrective actions.
- Inventory Management: Assist in inventory management, conduct counts, and ensure proper stock rotation.
- Scheduling: Create and maintain staff schedules, manage time-offs, and optimize labor costs.
- Food Safety and Sanitation: Ensure compliance with regulations, monitor cleanliness, enforce practices, and perform equipment maintenance.
- Communication: Maintain open lines of communication with managers and team members, resolve customer concerns, and collaborate on improvements.
- Training and Development: Train new staff, foster a learning environment, and support skill enhancement.
- Team Collaboration: Coordinate with front-of-house managers and other shift leaders, promote teamwork, and facilitate mutual support.
- Operational Efficiency: Identify process improvements, enforce procedures, and deliver exceptional service.
- Opening and Closing Duties: Assist with opening and closing procedures, including equipment setup and shutdown, cleaning, and securing the premises.
- Flexibility: Work as a team member when needed, assisting with food preparation and other back-of-house tasks.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Previous kitchen management or leadership experience, preferably in the restaurant/hospitality industry.
- Strong knowledge of back of the house operations, including food preparation, cooking, and safety procedures.
- Proficiency in inventory management, cost control, and effective team building.
- Excellent problem-solving and decision-making skills.
- Knowledge of food safety and sanitation regulations.
- Ability to work flexible shifts, including mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays.
- Proficient computer skills and familiarity with restaurant management systems.
