The Aviation Project Manager is responsible for overseeing complex aviation infrastructure projects from concept through completion. Key accountabilities include:

  1. Manage airport design and construction projects from concept through completion, including planning, regulatory approvals, environmental considerations, financial planning, land acquisition, and project phasing.
  2. Serve as a primary client contact, developing and maintaining strong relationships with airport sponsors, aviation agencies, and industry stakeholders.
  3. Led project management activities, ensuring successful delivery, schedule adherence, budget management, and alignment with client expectations.
  4. Provide technical guidance, mentorship, and support to junior staff while helping expand team capabilities.
  5. Perform quality assurance and quality control reviews for project designs, technical documents, and contract materials.
  6. Support business development efforts by identifying opportunities, preparing proposals, participating in pursuits, and contributing to market growth strategies.
  7. Collaborate with leadership and internal teams to expand aviation services and strengthen industry presence.
  8. Provide construction support, attend client meetings, and participate in site visits as required.
  9. Represent the organization at industry conferences, events, and professional organizations to build relationships and promote aviation expertise.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Engineering, or a related field.
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license required.
  • 8+ years of experience in airport design and/or construction, either in private industry or government service.
  • Proven experience managing aviation projects, including airport design and construction administration.
  • Strong understanding of FAA advisory circulars related to airport design and FAA grant processes.
  • Experience leading teams, mentoring staff, and supporting professional development initiatives.
  • Strong project management, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to engage clients and stakeholders effectively.
  • Proficiency with computer applications and project management tools.
  • Self-motivated, collaborative, and capable of managing complex projects in a team-oriented environment.
  • Able to travel for client meetings, site visits, and industry events.
  • Valid driver’s license and ability to safely operate a vehicle.
