Overview
V2X Professional Services (VPS) is seeking an Automotive Instructor to facilitate Interactive Distance Learning (PC based) and Instructor Led Training courses for Mazda Dealership Technicians in a training center setting. The ideal candidate should have previous dealership and Instructor/Facilitator experience, with ASE Certification desired but not required.
Responsibilities
- Facilitate Interactive Distance Learning (PC based) and Instructor Led Training courses for Mazda Dealership Technicians.
- Work with highly technical diagnostic equipment, including Scan Tools, Lab Scopes, DVOMs, Air Conditioning Recycling Equipment, Vibration Diagnostic Equipment, etc.
- Adapt to rapidly changing situations and work environments.
- Work independently and effectively at a satellite training facility.
Requirements
- Minimum of two years automotive technician experience.
- Strong knowledge of intricate automotive systems.
- Advanced automotive systems diagnostic skills.
- Demonstrated ability to work skillfully with diagnostic equipment.
- Intermediate computer skills, including the use of the internet, Microsoft Office products, and email.
- Excellent time management, communication, and organizational skills.
- Must be able to work in both classroom and shop/lab settings.
Skills
- Two years automotive instructor experience preferred.
- Previous Mazda dealership experience preferred.
- OEM Master Technician Certification (domestic or import) preferred.
- ASE Certifications preferred.
Qualifications
- Minimum Associates degree in Automotive Technology or successful completion of a formal Automotive Technology Program.
- Four years automotive technician experience with a High School diploma may be considered in lieu of a degree.
Physical Environment
- Continuous use of personal protective equipment, i.e., safety glasses, gloves, and head protection.
- Standing, sitting, walking, occasional lifting (overhead, waist level), bending, frequent near vision use for reading and computer use.
- Moving materials weighing up to 35 pounds on a regular basis, occasionally lifting over 35 pounds with assistance of lifting and moving equipment.
- Manual dexterity and coordination required over 50% of the work period.
