Automotive Instructor- Schaumburg, IL

About the role

V2X Professional Services is seeking an Automotive Instructor to facilitate Interactive Distance Learning (PC-based) and Instructor-Led Training courses for Mazda Dealership Technicians in a training center setting. The role requires strong technical skills, previous dealership experience, and the ability to work independently.

Responsibilities

• Facilitate PC-based and Instructor-Led Training courses for Mazda Dealership Technicians
• Work with highly technical diagnostic equipment, including Scan Tools, Lab Scopes, DVOMs, Air Conditioning Recycling Equipment, Vibration Diagnostic Equipment, etc.
• Adapt to rapidly changing situations and work environments
• Communicate effectively with both customers and co-workers in a team environment
• Manage time effectively and maintain organizational skills

Requirements

• Minimum of two years automotive technician experience
• Strong knowledge of intricate automotive systems and advanced diagnostic skills
• Intermediate computer skills, including the use of the internet, Microsoft Office products, and email
• Excellent time management, communication, and organizational skills
• Must be able to work independently and effectively at a satellite training facility

Desired Skills

• Two years automotive instructor experience
• Previous Mazda dealership experience
• OEM Master Technician Certification (domestic or import)
• ASE Certifications

Education

• Minimum Associates degree in Automotive Technology or successful completion of a formal Automotive Technology Program
• Four years automotive technician experience with a High School diploma may be considered in lieu of a degree

Work Environment

• Work in both classroom and shop/lab settings
• Exposure to automotive fumes, fluids, noise, smells, sharp edges, and bump hazards
• Standing, sitting, walking, bending, frequent near vision use for reading and computer use
• Moving materials weighing up to 35 pounds on a regular basis
• Manual dexterity and coordination required over 50% of the work period
