About the role
The Restructuring & Liability Management group at Lazard is seeking an Associate to join their team. The group specializes in helping companies in financial distress and advising creditors and other investors. This role is based in New York.
Responsibilities
- Oversight of financial model development and analysis for transaction evaluation and strategic decision-making
- Creation and presentation of client materials and meetings
- Interaction with senior bankers and clients
- Mentorship and training of junior analysts
- Aid in deal execution and new business development
Requirements
- 2-4 years of relevant experience from an investment bank (preferably in restructuring, liability management or leveraged finance)
- 3+ years of restructuring experience at a turnaround advisory firm, as a restructuring attorney or as a credit investor
- Top performance with comfort operating in an unstructured environment
- Strong quantitative background and analytical skills
- Meticulous attention to detail
- Proficiency in Excel, PowerPoint, FactSet, Bloomberg
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment
- Demonstrated leadership skills and motivation to work as a team player
Qualifications
- Strong academic background, preferably in finance, economics, or related fields
- Passion for financial advisory services and restructuring
- Experience with financial modeling and analysis tools
- Understanding of corporate finance principles
- Knowledge of bankruptcy law and restructuring processes

Pay
The base salary range for this role is approximately $185,000 - $250,000 USD. Actual compensation will vary based on experience, qualifications, and other factors.

This role is full-time and permanent.
