About the role
The Chicago office of Jones Day is seeking an associate for its Business Restructuring & Reorganization Practice. Qualified candidates should have 3-4 years of experience in a law firm’s restructuring/reorganization practice, preferably including representation of debtors in chapter 11 cases. Excellent academic credentials, strong writing and analytical skills, and the desire to work both independently and as part of a team are required.
Responsibilities
- Represent clients in bankruptcy and restructuring matters
- Assist in the preparation and filing of petitions under Chapter 11 of the Bankruptcy Code
- Prepare and present legal arguments and opinions to courts and other stakeholders
- Collaborate with colleagues on complex legal issues
Requirements
- JD degree from an accredited law school
- Admitted to practice law in at least one U.S. jurisdiction
- Minimum of 3-4 years of relevant experience
- Strong academic record

Pay
The salary range for this role is $260,000 - $310,000. Actual salary will be commensurate with the candidate’s qualifications and relevant experience.
